We started this service in Jan 11 and have upgraded approximately 3,000 lights. Nearly all lights sent back for upgrade were 100% functional so this year we are doing it slightly different. Instead of stripping your light back to nothing and reusing just the aluminium shells and optics we are going to replace the whole light with new. The reason for this is so we can reuse your old light. Many schools are now running night MTB courses around the world and we are constantly being asked for old lights. What we propose to do is sell your old light at less than cost to the schools and supply batteries, chargers and mounts at a discounted rate too. This means younger, up and coming champions will be able to enjoy the pleasures of night riding knowing that they have the best and safest product on the market. Recycling at its best.
Each Monday we will list 50 upgrades for purchase. This is a first come first served product.
When ordering your upgrade light you will have the option to change the light colour with Option 1 and Option 2 colours. We will try and meet Option 1 but if stock is low then we will supply Option 2.
You will have the 3 beam options to choose from as well as Standard or Higher Power light. There is no longer an option for a white lightbar.

The cost of the upgrade light is a flat $60 ex tax for International orders and $66 Inc GST for Australian orders - Note this price is for one lightset as shown below
When you have ordered the upgrade send your old light(s) back to us ASAP along with a copy of your invoice. The return address is on the PDF invoice which we email to you upon ordering. Note, some invoices have a page 2 Once we receive your old light we will ship out the new one. The turn around will be much quicker
UK - Order your upgrades online and ship your lights to our central distribution depot in Leicester with a copy of your order. Details of the forwarding address will be on your invoice. Once received we will process your upgrade order within 24 hours of receiving them and ship back to you direct via Air Mail. An email will be sent to you informing you they have been shipped. Your package will be labelled Warranty and should not attract any taxes or fees.
EU & REST OF THE WORLD - Order your upgrades online, ship your lights directly back to us in Australia. These will be processed within 24 hours of receiving them and shipped back to you via Air Mail. An email will be sent to you informing you they have been shipped. Your package will be labelled Warranty and should not attract any taxes or fees.
We have a few options for you to choose from, see below
Light Upgrade - We replace your old light with all new parts and the LED's are the latest and greatest from CREE. For those who know LED's they are from the R2 bin and are the brightest in their class. Examples on how much extra light you get by upgrading just the LED's are below.
- 2007 - 2008 models, nearly 2 times the light output
- 2008 - 2009 models, nearly 50% brighter
- 2009 - 2010 models, nearly 30% brighter
- 2010 - June 2010 models, 10% brighter
- 2011 - 5% brighter
More Power - This will increase your light output by 40% NOTE : Upgrading will result in draining the battery quicker. Your 3 hour or Half Epic (on high mode) battery will last for 2 hours. Your 6 hour or Epic (on high mode) battery will last for 4 hours plus the light will run slightly hotter but will quickly cool when air is passing over them. Running the Half Epic or Epic battery on low mode will have the same battery drain and light output as your current high mode. Couple this upgrade with an LED upgrade and the improvements are massive. See this page for more info
Optics - Want to change the optics in your light(s) simply select which optic you would prefer, There is no option to have different optics in the single lightset.
NOTE: We have a new optic to replace our old Medium. The new All Rounder is an awesome beam and can be used for helmet, handlebar and Head Torch. The improvement in swapping just the old Medium optic to the All Rounder optic is double the light output. See images for optics below.
NOTE: The old Medium beam is the dimpled / frosted optic. Also note there will be no improvement in light output when swapping the Intermediate (Concave Optic) for the All Rounder.
