Ay Up Team Racing

What is Ayup Racing Team?- The Ay Up Racing team is a professional mountain bike team based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The team was set up by me (Andy Fellows) after noticing the amount of talented riders based on the Sunshine Coast.

What are the goals of the Team?- The team was developed to help junior riders reach their full potential as athletes.  Through my years racing at an elite level I noticed that there is lack of support and encouragement for junior riders. These boys are at the level where with the right guidance and direction they can achieve great things. One of the boys has his heart set on going to represent Australia at the Olympics, what a massive dream, imagine if the team can help him get to a level where that dream becomes a reality.  It is possible!

The biggest goal of the team is expansion. Currently the team has 4 riders, 2 senior (Andy Fellows, Sean Bekkers) and 2 juniors (Rodger Pogson-Manning, Nathan King) It would be great to be able support have 6 or 8 juniors, and include some girls in the male dominated sport! With the help from our sponsors hopefully in 2012 we can achieve this!

Where to now?- With the official launching of the team behind us we can concentrate on what we do best, racing. With a jam packed calendar the team will be racing domestically throughout Queensland and even further abroad. We have a good few months of training before the National Cross Country Series begins, which will see the team racing against the best in Australian.  We can expect big things for this talented group of athletes.
