BATTERIES - rechargeable batteries are Lithium Polymer technology with no memory.

We have 2 battery types and they come in two frame sizes. All have short circuit, over voltage protection, low voltage cut out and other smarts are built into the battery packs, each packed inside a watertight tough plastic casing for protection and feature a fixed battery cable approx 300mm long. Mount anywhere neoprene battery pouches further protect and carry your light power.

The small casing dimensions are - 68mm x 38mm x 20mm and these packs weigh approx 80 Grams
The large casing dimensions are - 80mm x 56mm x 20mm and these packs weigh approx 140 Grams

Half Epic & Epic Battery Control

Push once to turn on
Push once to cycle through modes
Push and hold for 2 seconds to turn off
To enter flashing mode with the battery off, push and hold for 2 seconds
To exit flashing mode and to turn off press once

HALF EPIC labelled batteries have high / low & flashing and are the small casing size. Approx burn time - 3hrs on high, 6 hours on low and 12+ hours on flashing

EPIC labelled batteries have high / low & flashing and are the large casing size. Approx burn time - 6hrs on high, 12 hours on low and days on flashing

3HR labelled batteries have just on / off and are the small casing size and run at the high power mode only. Approx burn time - 3 hours

6HR labelled batteries have just on / off and are the large casing size and run at the high power mode only. Approx burn time - 6 hours

Gone are the days that you have to conserve battery power. No more resting in the dark with our lights. Our 3hr batteries have a minimum burn time of 3 hours and weigh in at 70 grams. Our 6hr batteries have a minimum burn time of 6 hours and weigh in at 130 grams. When we say minimum burn we mean that the batteries will run the lights at full power for 3 & 6hrs then slowly dim until the battery switches off at 5V. A 3hr battery has been known to run for a further 6 hours after the 3hr burn time, all be it slowly dimming to that of a small hand held torch.

Our batteries have been designed to be mounted within 300mm from the light, be it on handle bar stem, helmet and headband. There are no problems with dangly leads and we offer only very long burn times, so no need to keep turning the lights on and off whilst resting. Depending on the conditions the batteries can still be outputting enough light to ride even after 2 hours past their rated burn life.

Lights can be powered up and down in the wettest conditions providing it is fresh or rainwater.

The power connectors we have chosen for our light system are a high quality Japanese type which has proven to be the most reliable. Our custom built silicone button requires at least 3mm of travel before it activates the internal switch. We have designed it this way for positive feedback for the user and made it pronounced enough to be found easily with or without gloves.

Our batteries carry their own ‘smarts’ & unlike most other batteries are fully protected internally with short circuit, over voltage and low voltage cut off. The battery casings are waterproof to a depth of 0.5 metre. They are also designed to withstand a repeated fall of 5 meters to a concrete floor.

NOTE - Always store your batteries fully charged. If a battery is left discharged for more than a few weeks it may be unable to hold its charge to capacity and warranty will become void.

Our warranty policy is such that if any part fails through normal use within 12 months it will be replaced free of charge. How’s that for confidence!

Do not leave batteries, charged or discharged in a hot car. A good idea is to store batteries in a cool box or esky.

NOTE : All our components are ROHS compliant and fully tested and certified by the relevant depts in Australia, UK, NZ, EU & USA

Ay Up batteries have a minimum 500 recharges. Our batteries do not have a memory and discharging a battery with the intention of recharging to gain more power does not work. Older batteries such as Nickel Metal Hydride or NiCad batteries needed to be drained before charging but not ours. You can charge Ay Up batteries at any state and they will hold their charge for many months

Caution -

Keep the batteries in a dry place when not in use. Never leave a charging battery unattended and always charge on a concrete, stone or non flammable surface. If charging in your home, workshop or office always fit a smoke alarm and check the functionality of the alarm regularly. If charging from your car, caravan or boat, never leave a charging battery unattended.
